CHICAGO — A 16-year-old boy was killed and five men were hurt, one critically, in citywide shootings between Monday morning and Tuesday morning, police said.

Around 1 a.m. Tuesday, police found the teen shot to death in an apartment hallway in Chatham, according to Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman.

At 5:30 p.m. Monday, a 20-year-old man was critically wounded after being shot across the street from the Kimball CTA Brown Line station in Albany Park, Estrada said.

• In the most recent nonfatal shooting, around 12:15 a.m. Tuesday, a 33-year-old man walked into Ingalls Memorial Hospital in suburban Harvey with a gunshot wound in his abdomen, Estrada said.

The man said he was standing on the sidewalk in the 10300 block of South Wentworth Avenue in Roseland when he heard gunshots and felt pain, Estrada said.

His condition later stabilized, Estrada said.

• At 11:04 p.m., a 40-year-old man was standing in the 2900 block of West 40th Street in Brighton Park when he heard gunshots and felt pain, Estrada said.

The man was brought to Mount Sinai Hospital, Estrada said, where he was in serious condition with a gunshot wound in his left cheek.

• Around 7:10 p.m., Estrada said, a 17-year-old was standing in the 3300 block of West Flournoy Street in North Lawndale when he heard gunshots and felt pain.

The teen was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was listed in good condition with a graze wound in his left arm, Estrada said.

• Around 9:30 a.m. Monday morning, a 25-year-old man was walking in the 800 block of West 54th Street in Back of the Yards when a man got out of a nearby silver sedan and shot at him before fleeing, Estrada said.

The man was taken to St. Bernard Hospital, where he was listed in good condition with a gunshot wound in his right leg, Estrada said.

Police said the man is a documented gang member.
