CHICAGO — A 16-year-old girl was wounded in a Brighton Park shooting late Monday, according to police.
The girl was on the sidewalk in the 3700 block of South Albany Avenue around 10:45 p.m. Monday when someone in a passing SUV opened fire, said Officer Jose Estrada, Chicago Police spokesman.
The girl was struck in the abdomen and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in "stable" condition, Estrada said.
No arrests have been made as the investigation is ongoing, Estrada said.
