STREETERVILLE — Shortly after getting a new Whole Foods and somewhat boozy Target, Streeterville will soon be home to a Bockwinkel's grocery, too.
Bockwinkel's, which operates two other Downtown grocery stores, will open its third at 10 a.m. Thursday at 320 E. Ohio St., company president Gerald Bockwinkel Jr. said.
Bockwinkel called Thursday's event a "very soft" opening, but once up and running the 16,000-square-foot grocery will be open from 7 a.m.-midnight, according to the Bockwinkel's website. Bockwinkel's posted news of its Streeterville store earlier this fall.
Bockwinkel's, considered an upscale grocer, currently runs two stores at 222 N. Columbus Drive and 155 N. Harbor Drive. The local mini-chain is known for its deli counter, baker and salad bar, as well as handing out $2 coupons with each purchase.
