'Chi-Raq' Trailer Released, Watch the Preview for Spike Lee's Film

By Tanveer Ali | November 3, 2015 12:54pm

Here's the trailer for "Chi-Raq," a film directed by Spike Lee set to be released in theaters by Amazon on Dec. 4.

The trailer of the controversial production confirms that it will be a riff on the ancient Greek play "Lysistrata," where women withhold sex to help bring peace.

In the case of "Chi-raq," that plot aims to stem gang violence by characters played by Wesley Snipe and Nick Cannon, among others.

Other actors with key roles in the trailer are Samuel L. Jackson as a colorfully dressed narrator, Jennifer Hudson as lead member of the "Black Lives Matter" movement, and John Cusack as a character clearly inspired by the St. Sabina Pastor Michael Pfleger.
