CHICAGO — A man in Austin was shot and had his car stolen by another driver after they had a minor accident, police said.
At 3:30 a.m., a 37-year-old man was driving in the 600 block of North Lockwood when someone behind him bumped his car, said Officer Janel Sedevic, Chicago Police spokeswoman. Both drivers got out of their cars, but the other driver took out a gun and shot the man in his neck. The shooter then drove off in the victim's car.
The victim took himself to West Suburban Hospital, where he was in "stable" condition, Sedevic said.
The victim is a documented gang member, police said.
