LOGAN SQUARE — The developer of the controversial Twin Towers project in Logan Square has gotten construction permits for the project.

When built, it will include more than 200 residential units in two towers, a 12-story building and an 11-story building.

The project will be the largest in the neighborhood once complete.

Last week the city issued a permit for the $11 million, 11-story tower at 2210 N. Washtenaw Ave. and a permit for the $14 million construction of the 12-story tower at 2733 W. Belden Ave.

The project is slated for the the lot located along Milwaukee between Belden and Washtenaw.

The developer, Rob Buono, had originally proposed two 11- and 15-story buildings for the project.

Ald. Joe Moreno told DNAinfo Chicago the developer had proposed to break ground in October when the developer received the initial permits to begin construction on the foundation back in September.

As of Tuesday, no work had been started on the site.
