CHICAGO — Chicago could see a bit of snow before dawn Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.

Though none is predicted to stick, some wet flakes may mix among this week's forecasted rain showers.

"It would depend on how much precipitation is happening around the area at that time, but temperatures will be low enough that we could see some flurries for sure," said Ricky Castro, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service's Romeoville outpost.

Temperatures early Thursday will be in the mid-to-high 30s for most of the city.

It's not unusual for Chicago to see some wet snow in late October, Castro added.

What would be unusual, he said, would-be a snow-free November, but it's possible. The mercury could hit the mid-60s by Monday or Tuesday.

"Patterns show that it's looking pretty darn warm for the first week of November, and our long-range models are showing that the rest of the month looks like it'll be warmer than usual too," Castro said.
