NORTH CENTER — CHIRP's "The First Time" live lit series returns to Martyrs' Wednesday with Tony Fitzpatrick leading the lineup of guests reading original works based on the theme of "first sign."
Each reading is followed by a song that relates to the story, played live by The First Time Three musicians — Steve Frisbie, Liam Davis and Gerald Dowd.
Showtime is 8 p.m., 3855 N. Lincoln Ave. Admission is $10.

• Tony Fitzpatrick, artist and author, most recently published "Dime Stories"
• James Gordon, better known as G.P.A. (Greatest Poet Alive)
• Anne Elizabeth Moore, former editor of Punk Planet and the Best American Comics
• Julie Mueller, photographer, CHIRP DJ and director of "First Time" series
• Jeremy Owens, creator/producer/host of "You're Being Ridiculous"
• Alisa Rosenthal, performer and teacher at the Old Town School of Folk Music and Vagabond School of the Arts
• Jenn Sodini, host, CHIRP DJ and Moth StorySlam winner
