HUMBOLDT PARK — A Humboldt Park outpost for all things Pierogi closed Sunday.

After a year in business at 1043 N. California Ave., Pierogi Street has closed.

The restaurant was the brick-and-mortar outpost of the Pierogi Wagon food truck.

The owners plan to re-concept the space as a commissary for the food truck as well as a tasting room for weddings and a private event space.

The owners plan to focus on food trucks, catering and what they call the fastest growing part of their business: weddings.

The family-owned food truck ran a successful Kickstarter in May 2013 and launched the truck in April 2014.

Jessica Whitney and Damian Warzecha were long-time Pierogi connoisseurs before launching their business.

The brick-and-mortar Humboldt Park location opened the Polish-American fusion concept in September 2014 under the name Polak. The owners later changed the name to Pierogi Street.

As part of the new focus on food trucks, the owners are launching a new portfolio of business arms: Soho Group, Soho Catering, Soho Weddings and a Soho food truck, according to a post announcing the Pierogi Street closing.
