BRIDGEPORT — If you Google Franco's Ristorante, the neighborhood's storied Italian joint at 300 W. 31st St., you'll find what appears to be bad news:
"Permanently closed," reads a tag published above the restaurant's Google search profile.
But that's not true.
"We are not closed,” owner Jeanine Ruffolo said in a short phone conversation with DNAinfo Chicago Thursday. "We’re doing a long-awaited clean-up and waiting on some equipment."
Ruffolo, who recently posted a sign in the window announcing a family vacation, said the restaurant will open at the end of November.
“We’re just taking a little breather,” she said.
