41-Year-Old Man Shot Dead in Humboldt Park Identified

HUMBOLDT PARK — A 41-year-old man is dead after a West Side shooting Wednesday afternoon, police said. 

Around 2:35 p.m., the man was shot in the chest while in the 1500 block of North Harding Avenue, according to Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman.

The man was brought to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition, Estrada said.

Hector Navarro, of the 1900 block of North Orleans Street, was pronounced dead at 3:10 p.m. according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

Police could not immediately provide any other information about the shooting.
