CHICAGO — A man died and four other people were hurt from gunshots since early Tuesday, police said.

Police found a man dead with a gunshot wound in his head in a Rogers Park apartment early Wednesday morning, according to Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman.

A 21-year-old woman was shot in her foot in Englewood Tuesday night, Estrada said.

• In the most recent shooting, at 2:15 a.m. Wednesday, a 29-year-old man was driving in the 1700 block of West Garfield Boulevard in Back of the Yards when he heard gunshots and felt pain in his ankle, Estrada said.

The man drove himself to Stroger Hospital, Estrada said, where he was listed in stable condition.

• Around 8:50 p.m. Tuesday night, police discovered a man in the 11600 block of South Throop Street in West Pullman with gunshot wounds in his chest, abdomen and left hand, Estrada said.

The man, 27, was taken to Christ Medical Center in critical condition, Estrada said.

• About 6:30 p.m., a 17-year-old was standing in the 8500 block of South Kingston Avenue when someone walked up and shot at her before running away, Estrada said.

The teen was brought to Trinity Hospital, where she was listed in good condition with a gunshot wound in her foot.
