
CHICAGO — A flurry of gun violence late Thursday and early Friday has left three dead and seven wounded, police said.
A shooting claimed the lives of a 20-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman in Roseland late Thursday while another man was killed in a shooting in West Pullman, police said.
In other violence, a 17-year-old was shot in his hand in the 1800 block of West 64th Street in West Englewood, said Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman.
Police said the teen was sitting on a back porch when he heard a gunshot and felt pain in his hand. He was transported in good condition to Holy Cross Hospital, Estrada said. No one is in custody.
Around 12:45 a.m. Friday, a group of men was in the 8800 block of South Cottage Grove Avenue in Chatham when someone walked up and opened fire at them, Estrada said.
A 43-year-old man was shot in his buttocks and taken to Christ Medical Center in stable condition, Estrada said.
A 24-year-old man was walking in the 100 block of North Mayfield Avenue in Austin when someone walked up to him and opened fire at 1:03 a.m. The man was transported to Mount Sinai Medical Center in stable condition, Estrada said
In East Garfield Park a 15-year-old boy was hit in his arm, abdomen and hip during a drive-by shooting around 1:10 a.m. in the 3300 block of West Lexington Avenue, Estrada said.
An acquaintance drove him him to Mount Sinai Medical Center where he was listed in stable condition, Estrada said.
Also overnight, two men in Englewood were shot in the leg in a drive-by shooting and an man in Uptown was shot in the back, police said.
