Young Man and Woman Killed in Roseland Shooting Identified

CHICAGO - A double homicide claimed the lives of two young people in Roseland Thursday night, police said.

Officers responded to a call of a person shot around 7 p.m. Thursday in the 500 block of West 109th Street.

When officers arrived, they found a young man with a gunshot wound in his head and a young woman with multiple gunshot wounds in her body, according to Officer Jose Estrada, Chicago Police spokesman.

William L. Drake, 20, of the 10900 block of South Lowe Avenue was pronounced dead at the scene at 8:49 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

Briona O. White, 22, of the 10100 block of South Carpenter Street, was transported to Christ Memorial Hospital in Oak Lawn, where she was pronounced dead at 7:43 p.m., morgue records show.

No one is in custody at this time, as police said they are still investigating the case.
