LOGAN SQUARE — The owner of Cafe Con Leche, D'Noche and The Harding Tavern is expanding his growing empire along a block of Milwaukee Avenue.

Esam Hani's One of a Kind Group has plans to open two new businesses in the 2700 block of North Milwaukee Avenue, a pizza bar and a separate tap room a few storefronts down.

Hani has plans to open the pizza bar in the former Mr. G's Beef at 2715 N. Milwaukee Ave. in the fall.

The 3,500-square foot pizza restaurant and bar will have room for 99 seats and include a sidewalk cafe.

Unfortunately that most likely means one of the greatest signs in the neighborhood is coming down.

Hani also has plans to expand Red Star Liquors, 2715 N. Milwaukee Ave., into the 4,000-square-foot neighboring storefront.

The expanded liquor shop will feature a craft beer tap room. That business is also expected to open in the fall.
