One Dead, Five Wounded Since Wednesday Morning

CHICAGO — A 21-year-old man was killed and five people have been wounded in shootings since Wednesday afternoon, police say.

The most recent shooting was the homicide, which occurred in West Pullman around 3:45 a.m., said Officer Janel Sedevic, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The most recent nonfatal shooting occurred about 20 minutes before the homicide. In Garfield Park, around 3:20 a.m., a 21-year-old man was shot in the leg while in a car in the 700 block of South Spaulding Avenue, Sedevic said.

Other incidents include:•

• Around 8:40 p.m., a 16-year-old boy was shot by someone inside a silver car as he stood in the 10300 block of South Union Avenue in Roseland. He was shot in the foot and taken to Roseland Hospital in good condition, Sedevic said.

• Almost two hours earlier, a 41-year-old man was shot in West Town.

• Two people were shot in the 2100 block of South Harding Avenue in Lawndale around 1:15 p.m. Wednesday. A 31-year-old man was shot in the head and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition. A 27-year-old man was also taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition. Further information about the 27-year-old was unavailable, Sedevic said.

No one is in custody for the shootings.
