CHICAGO — A 41-year-old man was shot Wednesday night when he interrupted a burglary in West Town, police said.

Around 7 p.m., the man interrupted a burglary and saw two men who had left a home in the 2300 block of West Huron Street, said Officer Janel Sedevic, Chicago Police spokeswoman. One of the men shot at the victim, hitting him in the armpit and thigh, Sedevic said.

The two men drove off in what was possibly a dark-colored sedan with items from the burglary, Sedevic said.

The man was taken to Stroger Hospital in fair condition. No one is in custody for the shooting, Sedevic said.
