LINCOLN PARK — A bicyclist attacked the driver of a CTA bus in Lincoln Park Thursday afternoon, a witness said.

A witness on the bus, which was traveling on Fullerton Avenue just east of the Chicago River, said a man on a bike attacked the female driver just after 2 p.m.

The cyclist, described as a tall man with light hair, was yelling at the driver as he rode up to the driver's window, according to the witness.

The witness ran up to the front of the bus to see what was going on and saw the CTA driver's hand was bleeding and that she was "shaken up."

A CTA spokeswoman confirmed that police were called to the scene for a bus on the No. 74 bus route.

"It was due to an incident involving a bicyclist," said CTA spokeswoman Catherine Hosinski.

The Chicago Police Department is investigating what happened both before and after the incident, according to Hosinski.

No one involved in the incident was taken to a hospital, Hosinski said.

A witness said the cyclist fled east on Fullerton.

A Chicago Police spokeswoman said she was unable to find a report associated with the incident.
