CHICAGO — A South Austin woman is the first person to die from the heat in Chicago this summer.

Ellean Williams, 69, of the 4800 block of West Cortez Street, was pronounced dead Sunday at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, according to a Cook County news release.

Williams' death was attributed to heart disease and heat stress. Weekend temperatures reached the 90s and the weather was humid.

A suburban Cook County woman also died from heart disease and heat stress over the weekend.
