CHICAGO — Police shot a man who pointed a gun at them early Wednesday, according to police.
Officers were on patrol at 1:40 a.m. in the 5600 block of South Morgan Street in Englewood when they saw a "large, unruly crowd," according to a Chicago Police statement. When the officers saw a man try to run away while holding his side they told him to stop, according to police.
The man then turned and pulled a gun from his waistband and pointed it at the officers, according to police. The officers then shot at the man, according to police.
The man was taken to an area hospital for treatment, according to police.
No officers were injured and a gun was found at the scene, according to police.
