HUMBOLDT PARK — A man is seriously hurt after being shot in his chest in Humboldt Park early Saturday morning, police said.

At about 2:15 a.m., a 24-year-old man was standing outside with a group of people on the 900 block of North Mozart Street when he heard gunshots and felt pain, according to Officer Ana Pacheco, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he's now in serious condition, Pacheco said.

Police said the man is a documented gang member.

No one is in custody for the shooting, Pacheco said, but detectives are investigating.
