LINCOLN PARK — Just five months after the rebirth of Harry's Velvet Room, the restaurant has shuttered.

Harry's Velvet Room opened in late February in Lincoln Park in the former Webster's Wine Bar location, 1480 W. Webster Ave.

The Lincoln Park restaurant and lounge gained national headlines when owner Dio Antic loudly announced he was banning selfies at the restaurant.

Paul Biasco says the attention must not have helped enough:

Antic announced the closing Wednesday night with a Facebook post, which read:

"In an attempt to protect the privacy of all involved, we can only state that the new operators and the previous owners came to an impasse in regards to certain contractual issues, which forbid HVR to continue on."

Harry's Velvet Room was a staple in River North in the '90s.

Antic said River North had become "party central" and he hoped the Lincoln Park location would cater to a more mature crowd.

Antic completely renovated the former Webster Wine Bar to open Harry's Velvet Room.
