HYDE PARK — The Hyde Park Farmers Market is adding exercise to its fruit and vegetable offerings with free yoga starting at noon Thursdays.

The market opens at 7 a.m. every Thursday at 53rd Street and Harper Court, and the last hour will feature a free yoga session (weather permitting).

Prepare to be tempted, though, as instructors are having participants set their mats up in front of Red Mango’s frozen yogurt store.

The market has moved back to Harper Court this summer after four years at Harold Washington Park and is slowly adding new vendors and new offerings beyond produce.

Yoga is the first addition, with organizers planning live music and other offerings as the season progresses.
