BOYSTOWN — A third venue will open in the former Spin nightclub, and even the owners are begging the question: What is SEVEN?

LKH Management said Monday that SEVEN Dance Club and Lounge will open at 3206 N. Halsted St. toward the end of June, adding it to the already-open Manhole and The Den.

SEVEN will feature an array of live entertainment and DJs seven days per week. Windy City Times said Saturday the new owners declined to explain the reasoning behind the dance club's name.

However, the dance club's website, WhatIsSeven.com, offers a couple of suggestions: The seven seas, the seven deadly sins and the seven chakras are all included in background images for the landing page.

The building has seen six changes (not quite seven) over the past two years, starting with Spin closing in May 2014. Since then, Whiskey Trust, Chloe's and multiple owners and managers have come and gone. The latest iteration featured the return of former owner David Gassman and the resurrection of Manhole, which opened in May.

Last week, repainting was in progress, with the Whiskey Trust logo and black paint slowly being removed from the brick facade.

LKH Management said information about preview and grand opening events for SEVEN will be sent to those who sign up for updates on its website.
