CHICAGO — Seven people have been shot across the city since Monday morning, including a 35-year-old man killed Monday night in Washington Heights.

Most recently, a man was shot while sitting in a parked car in Auburn Gresham, said Officer Janel Sedevic, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

Around 5:20 a.m. Tuesday, the man was parked in a lot in the 8400 block of South Parnell Avenue when someone drove up in a dark-colored car and opened fire, hitting him in his arm, Sedevic said.

The man tried to drive away from the shooting, but crashed into a nearby building, police said. He then ran from the scene to a nearby relative's home and from there was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where his condition was stabilized, Sedevic said. Police did not know his age.

The shooter was able to drive away, and no one was in custody, Sedevic said.

Around 11 p.m., a 38-year-old man was shot in his leg and hand while walking in the 5600 block of South Wolcott Avenue in Englewood, Sedevic said.

He was taken to Stroger Hospital in good condition, Sedevic said.

Around 8:15 p.m., a 16-year-old boy was shot in his finger by someone in a passing SUV in the 2500 block of West 73rd Street in Chicago Lawn, police said. The teen was taken to Holy Cross Hospital, where he was listed in good condition, Sedevic said.

A 19-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy were both shot around 7:30 p.m. while walking in the 2900 block of West Lexington Street in Garfield Park, Sedevic said.

The 19-year-old was listed in good condition after being shot in his leg, and the 16-year-old was listed in serious condition after being shot in his back. They were both taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, Sedevic said.

Hours earlier, a 36-year-old man was shot in Woodlawn.
