3 Killed, 12 Wounded in Gun Violence Since Friday Evening, Police Say

CHICAGO — Three people were killed and 12 others were wounded, including five who were wounded in a single Austin shooting, in gun violence across the city since Friday evening, police said.

A 17-year-old boy was killed and an 18-year-old man was wounded in a Bridgeport shooting Saturday morning.

A 27-year-old man was found dead after a shooting in Little Village Friday night.

A 34-year-old man was shot to death while sitting in a parked car in Pullman Friday evening.

A 25-year-old man was shot in his leg in Humboldt Park Friday evening.

• In the most recent nonfatal shooting, a 21-year-old man was shot in his shoulder at 9:14 a.m. Saturday on the 1800 block of West 71st Street in Englewood, said Officer Stacey Cooper, a Chicago Police spokeswoman. Police said no further information was available.

• At 6:44 a.m. Saturday morning, a 21-year-old man was walking outside 107 S. Champlain Ave. in Pullman when a man with whom he had argued before approached and shot him, Cooper said.

The man was shot in his left forearm and was brought to Roseland Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition, Cooper said.

• In Austin, five people were shot outside a party early Saturday morning, Cooper said. The three women and two men were standing in a courtyard on the 0-100 block of North Lorel Avenue when a man approached them from a gangway and shot them at about 3 a.m., Cooper said.

The victims include a 33-year-old woman, shot in her face and neck area, who was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious condition.

A 38-year-old woman was shot in her hand and a 37-year-old woman shot in her buttocks. They were taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where they were listed as stable.

Also among the victims were a 26-year-old man shot in his leg and a 23-year-old man shot in his leg.

So far no one is in custody, Cooper said.

• At 2:38 a.m., after officers heard gunshots in Chicago Lawn, they found a 39-year-old man wounded on the sidewalk on the 6500 block of South Oakley Avenue, Cooper said.

The man had been shot in his leg and arm and was brought to Christ Memorial Hospital, where he was listed as stable, Cooper said.

No one is in custody for the shooting, Cooper said.

• At 11:22 p.m. Friday night, a 27-year-old man was standing on the 7300 block of South Artesian Avenue in Chicago Lawn when shots were fired from a dark-colored van, Cooper said.

The man was shot in his leg and was brought to Holy Cross Hospital, where he's now listed as stable, Cooper said. No one is in custody for the shooting, Cooper said.

• Around 8:30 p.m., a 35-year-old man was shot in his lower back on the 400 block of East 111th Street in Pullman, Cooper said. The man was brought to Advocate Christ Memorial Hospital, where he's listed as stable, Cooper said.

According to Officer Janel Sedevic, a Chicago olice spokeswoman, the man was uncooperative with police.
