CHINATOWN — Some chatter on the Internet recently suggested the popular Post Office at 2345 S. Wentworth Ave. had closed:

A representative from the office of U.S. Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D-4th) said several calls around the city revealed that the Post Office, a one-man operation, is still very much open.
A confirmation from Chicago-based Post Office spokesman Mark Reynolds showed up a short time later: The Chinatown Post Office remains open.
So what happened? It might just have been that the lone worker took a lunch break, Reynolds said.
