WICKER PARK — This year's edition of Chicago's "Movies in the Parks" kicks off in June and includes several chances to catch a flick under the stars in Wicker Park, Bucktown and West Town parks.

Thanks to financial support from the Wicker Park Bucktown Chamber of Commerce, the Wicker Park Advisory Council, Wormhole Coffee, Goddess and Grocer, Midtown Educational Foundation and St. Stanislaus Kostka School, the area's namesake park will be offering six movies — the most of any other Chicago neighborhood park.

Elaine Coorens, publisher of Our Urban Times and a member of the Wicker Park Advisory Council and Clare Rodriguez, the park's supervisor, each "won" movies that were raffled off at an awards ceremony where park volunteers received top honors.

Other groups such as the Bucktown Community Organization and Pulaski Park Advisory Council have made movies possible in their neighborhoods, too.

All movies begin at dusk. DNAinfo Chicago made a map of all movies in Chicago parks. You can download the My Chi Parks app for over 1,000 free events in parks all over the city.
