Man Fatally Shot in Chicago Lawn Friday Morning Identified

CHICAGO —  A 26-year-old man was fatally shot in Chicago Lawn Friday morning, police said.

Around 9:55 a.m., a man was standing outside in the 7000 block of South Talman Avenue, when two unknown men walked up and fired shots before running away, said Officer Janel Sedevic, a Chicago police spokeswoman.

The man was shot in his back and taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where he later died, Sedevic said.

He was identified as Rashad Abdullah, of the same block as the shooting. He was pronounced dead at 11:10 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

No one is in custody.
