Living Stations of the Cross Processionals in Pilsen, Little Village Friday

NEAR WEST SIDE — Thousands of Catholics are expected to attend Living Stations of the Cross processions planned in Pilsen and Little Village Friday.

A Pilsen Via Crucis march will step off at 8:30 a.m. Friday at Providence of God Parish, 818 W. 18th St., and head along 18th Street to Harrison Park at 18th and Wood streets before ending at St. Adalbert Parish.

At St. Adalbert's, Catholic Archbishop Blase Cupich will conduct the closing prayer service at Noon Friday at the parish, 1650 W. 17th St.

In Little Village, a Living Stations of the Cross processional will begin at 9 a.m. Friday at 26th Street and Sacramento Avenue, continuing along 26th Street before ending at Kostner Avenue. 

Participating Little Village parishes include St. Agnes of Bohemia, Good Shepherd, Epiphany, Our Lady of Tepeyac, Assumption and St. Roman. 

The Stations re-enactments, an annual Good Friday tradition, consists of live scenes representing the Passion of Jesus Christ, each marked with crosses along procession routes.
