LINCOLN PARK —  Chicago is about to get a taste of the famed Dinosaur Bar-B-Que from Syracuse, N.Y.

The city's first outpost of the chain is set to open the week of April 20.

The Chicago Dinosaur will be located in Lincoln Park at 923 W. Weed St.

Dinosaur Bar-B-Que was started with the idea of providing a place for bikers, the motorcycle kind, to grab a good plate of food in 1983.

Dinosaur Bar-B-Que is a staple in Syracuse and has since expanded to a number of East Coast cities including New York City, Buffalo and Newark. The Chicago location will be the ninth for the company, which called the move into the city a "natural one."

The restaurants regularly host live music and some of Chicago's blues artists have played the original Dinosaur stage in Syracuse over the last 22 years.

"Dinosaur's signature 'que, carefully curated local and regional craft beer selection and vibrant atmosphere will all be part of the Windy City experience," the restaurant's website reads.

No official date has been set as the buildout is still being finalized, but the restaurant passed its inspection on March 27, according to city records.
