CHICAGO — Two people have been fatally shot and another man wounded within blocks of each other since Monday, police said.

The most recent shooting occurred around 2:15 a.m. Wednesday in the 5900 block of South Morgan Street in Englewood, said Officer Janel Sedevic, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The three shootings were within blocks of each other, but police can't say if they are related.

An 18-year-old man was walking an alley when someone walked up to him and shot him in the chest and abdomen. He was taken to Stroger Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, Sedevic said.

No one is in custody for the shooting.

Around 10:10 a.m. Tuesday, Savon Davis, 16, was fatally shot in the 1200 block of West 57th Street, police said.

On Monday, Keith Stokes, 24, was fatally shot at 1:50 p.m. in the 5700 block of South Morgan, just a couple blocks from Tuesday's shooting. Stokes was one of eight people shot Monday.

"They shoot out here everyday. They're fighting over property. Innocent kids dying over bull----," said Barbara Rivers, who has lived in the neighborhood for 69 years.

"What else are we supposed to do? [We're] out here every day. It don't even bother me anymore," she said.

Two other people were shot in Englewood Monday, including a 65-year-old woman in the 7300 block of South Winchester Avenue and a 32-year-old man in the 5800 block of South Laflin Street.

Police could not immediately confirm if any of the shootings were connected.
