BRONZEVILLE — Ald. Pat Dowell has won reelection in the 3rd Ward.

Dowell, who was first elected in 2007, led former MWRD Commissioner Patricia Horton by a 73-27 margin with 78 percent of precincts reporting.

"My community sees the changes, positive changes, that have been occurring over the last 8 years and they’ve given me an opportunity to see how much further I can take the ward," Dowell said Tuesday night.

"I never take anything for granted, but obviously I was a little bit concerned because I was running against somebody who was a former elected official who shares my first name," Dowell added.
