ALBANY PARK — Ald. Margaret Laurino easily coasted to victory in the 39th Ward, besting two challengers.

Laurino had 53 percent of the vote. She defeated Robert Murphy, co-founder of the Fair Allocation in Runways Coalition, who had 43 percent of the vote. Joe Laiacona, a retired educator, got 4 percent of the vote.

Laurino issued a statement Tuesday night thanking her supporters for "honoring" her with their votes.

“It has been a privilege to serve my constituents, addressing their needs in the ward and representing their interests in the City Council. I look forward to working with all my constituents over the next four year to make the 39th even better," she said.
