CHICAGO — After frigid temperatures force CPS schools to close, the Adler Planetarium is offering Chicago parents some help.

The museum is offering free admission Thursday to all children accompanied by a paying adult starting at 9:30 a.m., officials said.

In addition, the Field Museum is offering free admission during the month of February for Illinoisans.

For parents who need to go to work and need child care, YMCAs throughout the city will offer the "School's Out" program.

The program, which costs $40 per day, runs from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m. and is for children ages 3-12. Along with arts, sports, computer games, and health and wellness activities, "School's Out" offers breakfast, lunch and a snack during the 13-hour program.

A full list of locations can be found at YMCAChicago.org.
