CHICAGO — Whether you go with a romantic partner, friends or by yourself, here's some places that should be on your menu this weekend:

• West Town's Bon Macaron bakery has taken customers only on an appointment-only basis since opening last June. But now on select Saturdays, it's taking drop-ins as well.

This Saturday — which is Valentine's Day for you forgetful sorts — and again on Feb. 28, the store will be open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. selling macarons for $2.50 each, including red velvet, the bakery's newest flavor.

Chef and owner Catherine Cooper has come up with more than 35 flavors of the pastry, ranging from pistachio and rose to birthday cake and mojito.

Bon Macaron, 1407 W. Grand Ave.

• Flirty Cupcakes in Lincoln Square whipped up a pair of dessert flights for Valentine's, available noon to 9 p.m. on Saturday.

Cost is $18, including milk and/or coffee for two. Pop in after 6 p.m. and the bakery will be romantically lit by candles, with live acoustic guitar music to serenade guests. BYOB, no reservations needed.

• Chef Michael Taus started the next chapter of his culinary career this week with the opening of Taus Authentic. The Wicker Park restaurant's menu  is divided into raw seafood and tartare, appetizers, entrees, and desserts, all made from scratch, including the bread rolls.

Here's the Oyster Yuzu with pickled shallot and mignonette sauce. Get three pieces for $10.

Prices for main dishes range between $18 to $38.

• Uptown's Fat Cat is inviting couples and singles alike to a night of drinking aged ciders and beers because, as the bar put, "there's nothing more romantic than bourbon and beer."

Expect to see the following beers and ciders on the tasting menu: Crispin Steel Town, Firestone Walker Double Barrel Ale, Dogfish Head Burton Baton, New Holland Dragon's Milk and North Coast Old Stock Cellar Reserve.

The tasting will kick off at 7 p.m. Saturday and get your tickets ($25 plus tax and tip) here.
