Police Warn Residents After String of Burglaries in Logan Square, West Town

CHICAGO — Police are warning Logan Square and West Town residents about a spate of burglaries in the area.

The most recent burglary occurred at 8 p.m. Jan. 29 in the 2000 block of West Churchill Street. Other burglaries occurred Jan. 18 at 12 p.m. in the 2000 block of West Cortland Street, Jan. 15 between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. in the 2000 block of West Willow Street, and Jan. 1 between 8 p.m. and 8:15 a.m. in the 2400 block of West Cortland Street, police said in a statement.

During each incident, the burlgar(s) enter the victim's garage through a side door or overhead door before making away with items inside the garage. In two of the burglaries, the offenders got into parked cars inside the garage and took items from inside the cars, police said.
