CHICAGO— A man was charged Saturday after a shooting in Washington Park earlier this week, police said.
Davonta Owens, 25, of the 5200 block of South Indiana Avenue, was charged with two felony counts aggravated battery, discharge of a firearm and use of a deadly weapon, and one felony count of attempted murder in the first degree, police said in a statement.
Owens was arrested after allegedly shooting a 32-year-old man in the head on Jan. 21.
Around 8:35 p.m. Wednesday, the man was in the 5100 block of South Calumet Avenue when two men walked up and robbed him, Sedevic said. During the robbery, the man was shot in the back of his head. He was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, Sedevic said.
Owens is expected to be in bond court Saturday.
