CHICAGO — Shootings across the city have wounded 11 people since Wednesday afternoon, police said.
The most recent shootings wounded two men in separate incidents in South Shore, said Officer Janel Sedevic, a Chicago Police Department spokeswoman.
Around 2:05 a.m., a 23-year-old man was shot multiple times while driving in the 7600 block of South Oglesby Avenue. An unknown man walked up to the man's car and opened fire, Sedevic said.
The man was listed in serious condition at Stroger Hospital after the shooting, Sedevic said.
Around 11:50 p.m., a 22-year-old man was shot in his left thigh while standing in the 7600 block of South Colfax Avenue, Sedevic said.
He was listed in stable condition at Northwestern Hospital, Sedevic said.
Around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, a 15-year-old boy was grazed in the face by a bullet in South Chicago, Sedevic said.
The teen was in the 8900 block of South Exchange Avenue when he heard the gunshots. He was listed in stable condition at Trinity Hospital, Sedevic said.
Four people were wounded in three separate shootings in Garfield Park, police said.
Around 9:55 p.m., a man and woman were hospitalized after a shooting in Englewood.
Around 10:20 p.m., a 22-year-old man was shot while riding in a car in Irving Park. Twenty minutes earlier, a 57-year-old man was shot during an attempted robbery in South Austin.
No one is in custody for any of the shootings.
