15-year-old Boy Among Three Wounded, Two Killed Overnight

CHICAGO — Two people were killed and three others were wounded in shootings across the city overnight including a 15-year-old boy shot in Altgeld Gardens Tuesday night.

Around 7:50 p.m., the boy was in the 600 block of East 133rd Street when he was shot in his head, said Officer Janel Sedevic, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The boy was taken to Comer Children's Hospital in Hyde Park, where he was listed in critical condition. No one is in custody for the shooting, Sedevic said.

Around 3:30 a.m., a woman was shot during an attempted robbery in the 100 block of East Garfield Boulevard in Washington Park, Sedevic said citing preliminary reports.

The woman, whose age was unavailable early Tuesday, was struck in her right calf and listed in stable condition at St. Bernard's Hospital in Englewood, Sedevic said.

Two hours earlier, a 35-year-old man was shot to death in Douglas Park and a 17-year-old boy was shot to death in Chicago Lawn.

Around 8:30 p.m., an 18-year-old boy was shot multiple times in his legs and buttocks as he walked in the 5900 block of South Laflin Avenue in Englewood, Sedevic said.

He was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition, Sedevic said.
