West Town Fatal Hit-and-Run Has Police Looking For Two Men

CHICAGO — Police are searching for two men who fled the scene after fatally injuring a 63-year-old woman in a Humboldt Park hit-and-run crash Sunday morning.

The accident occurred around 7:50 a.m. in the 2700 block of West Division Street when a 2010 Honda CRV with Wisconsin plates crashed into a 1993 Ford Escort driven by a 63-year-old woman, police said.

Bessie English, 63, of the 900 block of North Waller Avenue in South Austin, was taken to St. Mary's Hospital. She was pronounced dead at 9:22 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

She died of multiple blunt injuries to her torso as a result of the accident, according to the autopsy.

Two men were seen running away from the scene. No one is in custody for the fatal crash, police said.
