Man Shot and Killed in Old Town Early Sunday Morning Identified

OLD TOWN — A man was shot in killed in Old Town early Sunday morning.

At 3:15 a.m., a 27-year-old man was found inside his vehicle with multiple gunshot wounds in the 400 block of West Evergreen Avenue, said Officer Ana Pacheco, a Chicago police spokeswoman.

The man's vehicle struck several cars before coming to a stop. He was transported to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival, Pacheco said.

The man was identified as Nacurvie Smith of the 1200 block of North Cleveland Avenue according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office. According to the autopsy results, Smith died from a gunshot wound to his arm.

Another vehicle was seen leaving the scene, Pacheco said. Area North detectives are investigating the shooting.
