CHICAGO — Two people have been charged in connection to the theft of an expensive bike and tip-jar cash from a Bucktown pizza place last week.

Shakespeare District police tweeted that a woman and a juvenile were charged in thefts from Craft Pizza, 1252 N. Damen Avenue, last weekend.

A group of three young men and two young women with a baby in a stroller were caught on video entering the restaurant last Saturday afternoon. The pizza spot's owner dubbed them the "stroller gang."

Kyla Gardner spoke to Craft Pizza's owner after the theft:

The woman — identified by police as Gwenel McKeebey — ordered a slice of pizza, then stole $10 from the tip jar, hiding it in a takeout menu she stashed in the baby stroller, said Scott Toth, Craft Pizza's owner. She later asked staff if the restaurant was hiring, he said.

Later, video footage caught a young boy climbing a 10-foot high fence, stealing a $700 bicycle left next to the building. The bike was later returned, and Craft Pizza offered free pie in appreciation Saturday.

Police said McKeebey was charged with stealing the cash, and a juvenile boy was charged with the bike theft. The Police Department's News Affairs office had no information on the arrests or charges.
