ANDERSONVILLE — The new menswear shop Notre officially opens its doors at 5202 N. Clark St. Friday.

Notre, which was founded by three men who have more than a decade worth of experience in men’s fashion, will offer men’s casual and fine clothing, in addition to accessories, luggage, footwear, skincare products and some home goods.

Owner Michael Jaworowski said the Notre team chose to open the high-end shop in Andersonville because he believes the Clark Street shopping strip is a “destination spot for a lot of Chicago downtowners.”

But the store is for locals too — a kind of ode to Andersonville — with a focus on utilizing community resources. Fixtures in the store were custom designed by Square Nail Workshop and many pieces of furniture in the store were bought from the antique shop Scout.

“You can expect that at any given time we’ll have a mix of people leisurely spending time in the store that feels more like a living room than it does a rack-by-rack retail space,” said Michael Jaworowski, an owner and former buyer for Haberdash.
