NORWOOD PARK — The Monday meeting of the Oriole Park Community Club will give residents a chance to meet the new children's librarian at the Oriole Park branch of the Chicago Public Library.

Amy Shirley will give the all-volunteer club an update on the library's summer reading program, in which 500 children participated, as well as other children's programs at the library, organizers said.

The Chicago City Council recently honored club president Al Firak for the more than 50 years of service to the Oriole Park community.

The meeting of the club "dedicated to fostering the general welfare of the Oriole Park neighborhood" will take place at 7 p.m. Monday at the Oriole Park field house, 5430 N. Olcott Ave.
