CHICAGO — At least five people, including a 14-year-old-boy, were injured in separate shootings during daylight hours Friday.

• Most recently around 2:27 p.m., an 18-year-old man was shot in his left leg in the 8400 block of South Exchange Avenue in South Chicago, according to Officer Veejay Zala, a Chicago police spokesman.

He took himself to Trinity Hospital in good condition, Zala said.

Police said the man is a documented gang member.

• Around 12:15 p.m., someone shot a 27-year-old man in his foot in the 3700 block of West Ohio Street in Humboldt Park, according to Officer Thomas Sweeney, a Chicago police spokesman.

He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition, Sweeney said.

No one is in custody.

• Earlier around 9:25 a.m., a 14-year-old boy was among three people shot in Englewood.

The three were in the 7000 block of South Aberdeen Street when someone opened fire, said Officer Janel Sedevic, a Chicago Police spokeswoman, citing preliminary reports.

The 14-year-old was shot in his right thigh, a 19-year-old man was struck twice in his back and a 22-year-old man was grazed in the shooting, Sedevic said.

No one is in custody for the shooting.

CPS is closed Friday for a School Improvement Day, according to its website.
