STREETERVILLE — The brutal winds that forced the closure of Lake Shore Drive and led to the destruction of a stretch of lakefront path Friday also nearly sent a station of Divvy bikes into the sky.

YouTube user Daniel Applebaum was near Lake Shore Drive and Ohio Street Friday when he captured a video of Divvy bikes being blown by gusting winds. The front tires of the 40-pound bikes are safely secured in the station, but the rear wheels are seen blowing back and forth in unison.

Chicago saw record snow and wind gusts of 60 mph Friday, according to the National Weather Service.
