
CHICAGO — A man died after being shot late Friday evening.
The 39-year-old man was standing in the 5300 block of South Hoyne Avenue about 11:30 p.m. when he was shot in the stomach, said Officer Janel Sedevic, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.
The man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition, and later pronounced dead at 12:35 a.m., authorities said.
He was identified as Charles Wright of the 3100 block of West 71st Street, the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office said. An autopsy determined he died of multiple gunshot wounds.
No one is in custody, and Area Central detectives are investigating.
