South Side Man Charged For May Murder

CHICAGO — A South Side man has been charged for killing a man in May. 

William R. Gardner, 31, of the 4700 block of South Vincennes Avenue, was charged with one count first-degree, one count of attempted first-degree murder and three counts aggravated assault against a peace officer with a weapon, and insurance of warrant, according to a police news release.

The incident happened on May 25th around 10 p.m., according to police.

Police responded to a call of shots fired in the 3300 block of West Maypole Avenue in East Garfield Park, and discovered 46-year-old Arron Feazell and a 17-year-old boy with gunshot wounds.

Both victims were transported to Mount Sinai hospital; Feazell died from his injuries at the hospital. 

Gardner was apprehended in Madison, Wisconsin, and is due to appear in central bond court Saturday.
