CHICAGO — A man is dead and a teenage boy is in serious condition following a shooting Sunday night in East Garfield Park.

Arron Feazell, 46, of Maywood was pronounced dead at Northwestern Memorial Hospital at 8:25 p.m. Sunday, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

Around 8:05 p.m. Sunday, Feazell and a 17-year-old boy were shot while standing in the 3300 block of West Maypole Avenue, authorities said. Feazell was shot multiple times and was dead on the scene.

The teen was driven by a friend to Mt. Sinai Hospital where he is in serious condition with gunshot wounds to both legs and a hand, Greer said.

Police responding to the shooting spotted a man with a gun near the intersection of North Homan Avenue and West Maypole Avenue and chased him, Greer said. Shots were fired by officers during the pursuit, but no one was injured, she said.
